Companion plants are used to aid pollination and control pest and diseases. Although our food is not yet certified organic we do not use pesticides at South Farm Nursery. We do not run a tractor which means that our food, when purchased locally, will have an extremely low carbon footprint.
The pigs are used for rotavating; we move them to different areas of the site and they generously prepare and fertilise the soil ready for planting.
At present we supply vegetables direct to restaurants. However we do have a small quantity available to sell direct from our nursery by prior appointment.
