Small scale wind turbines have just been  brought onto the market.  There seem to be three main suppliers  for domestic use Windsave, Eclectic Energy and Swift.   If anyone knows of other suppliers please let us know and I'll post them here.

We may get a wind turbine installed once the need for planning permission is removed. However we are aware that living in a semi detached we will have to consult with our neighbour before hand.

Transport

We are seriously looking into buying an electric car in the future. This is Deb's domain!

The G-Wiz looks extremely interesting but we need to save up for this now. The G-Wiz is charged at the mains. We really like the idea of running a car on some of the power converted from the sun's energy through our Solar PV and perhaps later through the wind's energy once a  wind turbine is installed. We would have to make a driveway so that the car has access to a socket for charging.

However we have decided to but a smart car. Its a diesel version and Deb gets 80 - 85 miles per gallon from it, That's pretty good I reckon.

Deb is the transport expert. See her comprehensive alternative-transport pages on the right.
